Foot Mobilisation therapy

We know that all the bones in our skeletal system work best when they are where they should be, but how much attention do we really pay to what happens in our feet.

Due to standing, walking, sport and injury the bones in your feet may move out of their optimum position and then over time the soft tissues around adapt and usually tighten. This can leave us with discomfort or deformity in our feet and will very often also affect what happens in our body above. Yes, knee, hip and back pain can all be caused by one of the bones in your feet not sitting in the right position.

Foot Mobilisation can be used as a stand alone therapy, carried out in conjunction with directed exercises or used alongside Orthotic therapy. It will help reduce connective tissue contractures in the feet and ankles and enable the bones to sit in their best possible alignment for function.

During any initial consultation with me, if it is felt to be an appropriate treatment then the process will be discussed with you, as you will often need a minimum of 6 x 30 minute sessions to allow the soft tissues to adapt.

Client Review

After years of back pain my physiotherapist suggested that it was partially caused by a foot / walking problem and recommended orthotics. I first visited Eleanor about a year ago for Orthotics and she provided me with custom made insoles which have helped me walk without rolling my foot in. This has helped considerably. Recently Eleanor has offered a foot manipulation therapy service. I found this particularly helpful in further improving my walking. I would recommend her to anyone finding that walking is becoming uneven and problematic.
